I’ve worked as a travel writer and photographer for nearly a decade, working at Getaway magazine in Cape Town first and then as a freelancer for several years. I’ve travelled to more than 40 countries around the world on assignments, which have ranged from doing a coast-to-coast road trip in the USA, tracking mountain gorillas in Rwanda and Uganda, hot air ballooning in Turkey, trekking in Patagonia and the Himalaya, diving in Belize and Iceland, searching for India’s best curry, learning to surf in Costa Rica, living with a Zen priest in Japan and desert exploring in Namibia, Chile and Bolivia. My stories have been published in websites, newspapers and magazines in South Africa, Australia, Dubai, Colombia, India, Thailand, the UK and the USA.
In 2016 I studied an MA in Ethnographic and Documentary Filmmaking at University College London, shooting my graduation film on a wildlife hunting ranch run by a community of former hunter gatherer people in South Africa. I’m working on several short film projects as a director as well as a freelance producer.
